A quieter day’s birding hardly produced anything noteworthy with the highlight of the day being a Yellow-browed Warbler sharing the apple tree with the Ring-necked Parakeet at Ty Pellaf. A scattering of migrants in the island’s gardens included 32 Goldcrests, 16 Chiffchaffs, 1 Willow Warbler and 6 Blackcaps. A Long tailed Tit remains at nant and Blue Tits and Great Tits still feed on the odd bird feeder. A Snow Bunting and 2 Wigeons were the only other noteworthy birds seen.

Even though birding has been rather quiet, good numbers and species of moths have been caught in the traps recently; A few days ago the first Brick for the island was caught, since then another 11 have been trapped. A Red-sword Grass was in the withies yesterday and today a Pale Pinion (another first for the island) was amongst a Red-green Carpet, a couple Autumn green Carpets, 3 Large Wainscots and a Herald.
