After starting off as a rather calm and pleasant day, the wind quickly picked up and turned to a fresh southerly wind by mid-afternoon.  The odd sparse gull-flock consisted of 13 Black headed Gulls, 6 Common Gulls and 34 Kittiwakes.  Three Lapwings and two Shelducks were the only new arrivals in with the usual waders around the beaches. A few finches dropped in to feed on the feeders in Ty Pellaf garden on their way south in the morning; 27 Chaffinches, a Brambling, five Greenfinches, three Goldfinches, three Siskins, four Linnets and a Redpoll were seen. Other main landbirds included two newly arrived Black Redstarts at the farm, a Woodcock at Nant and a Water Rail in Cristin withie.
