Fewer birds were present today although due to the calm weather holding up, a few passerines flew overhead during the course of the day. The highlights of the day consisted of a Firecrest at Nant, a Lapland Bunting over Ty Pellaf and a Lapwing on the narrows. Counts of fly-overs in the morning came to: 4 Skylarks, 6 Meadow Pipits, 57 Chaffinches 7 Bramblings, 8 Greenfinches, a Siskin, 4 Linnets, 3 Goldfinches and a Reed Bunting. Not quite as many thrushes were present today although 4 Song Thrushes, 4 Redwings, a Fieldfare and 7 Blackbirds were in the island’s gardens.
