Despite on the whole being a calmer and brighter day, hardly any birds of note were seen; a Black Redstart at Ty Pellaf and three Lapwings around the beaches were the highlights. The normal flocks of waders were around the narrows as usual and at high tide they all sheltered away from the waves by the pool, newly-formed by the centimetres of rain that fell overnight: 56 Oystercatchers, 34 Turnstones, 13 Purple Sandpipers, 46 Redshanks, 48 Curlews and two Whimbrels were today’s counts. A female Blackcap, a Chiffchaff and two Goldcrests were at Nant along with a few Redwings, Great Tits and Blue Tits.
