A very calm and sunny day brought more in the way of birds today. A nice surprise was a female Pallas’s Warbler found in the back of Nant withie at midday. After feeding rather openly for the finder for 5 minutes, it then disappeared for a while until it was briefly seen and then caught and ringed. A few more passerines passed by overhead aswell today; 2 Grey Wagtails, 32 Chaffinches, a Brambling, 3 Greenfinches, a Siskin, 2 Linnets, a Redpoll, 4 Lapland Buntings and 2 Reed Buntings were seen. The same Black Redstart was at the farm whilst 3 Song Thrushes, 7 Blackbirds, 3 Redwings and a Fieldfare were the thrush counts.
