Saturday 1 January 2011

2011 started off rather quietly with very few birds about. Complete cloud cover remained throughout the day with a persisting northerly wind also present. On the morning round of the south end, a Short eared Owl was flushed in the gorse whilst 140 Razorbills and three Common Gulls passed by the south tip. Elsewhere, a Wigeon had joined the Mallards in Solfach where two Shelducks had arrived and accompanied the one already present.
