Oystercatchers, Shelducks, Cormorants and Herring Gulls were amongst a few that had to battle against the waves to feed. Pictures (c) Ben Porter

The winds reached fifty kilometres an hour during the early morning and continued until midday and then dropped rapidly throughout the afternoon. Some impressive waves rolled in around the coast at high tide however little was present bird-wise. Eight Black headed Gulls, six Common Gulls and twenty three Kittiwakes fed with the Herring and Greater black backed Gulls present. Otherwise, two Woodpigeons at nant, a couple Redwings at the farm and two Ringed Plovers on the south end were seen.
