Wednesday 9 March 2011

After yesterday’s arrival of common migrants, today turned a little to the dull side with little in the way of birds around. A Common Chiffchaff was seen briefly in Cristin garden in the morning and a few Goldcrests had also arrived, with two at Ty Pellaf, a single in Cristin withie and the usual gang at nant (four conted today). A few auks and gulls passed the west side of the south end, struggling into the south westerly wind. Counts reached: seventeen Fulmars, two Gannets, thirteen Kittiwakes, thirty Guillemots and thirty two Razorbills

The usual few Blackbirds were scattered around in the island's gardens. (c) Ben Porter
