Glorious sunshine was present throughout the day, and a gentle breeze persisted from the west. Little in the way of birds was around the island: two ‘Commic’ Terns off Traeth Ffynnon in the morning, the same Cuckoo at Cristin, two Collared Doves and three Swifts were probably the highlights of the day. Ten Spotted Flycatchers, 13 Sedge Warblers, six Whitethroats, a Blackcap, five Chiffchaffs and three Willow Warblers were scattered throughout the island’s gardens and withies. Two Turnstones were again in Solfach, and a lone Curlew was seen in Henllwyn; 38 Swallows and 18 House Martins represented the hirundines seen.

Wheatear (upper) and Turnstone (lower).
