Wednesday 1 June 2011

June started on a quiet note today, with few birds of any consequence seen. The Cuckoo was again in Cristin garden, a ‘Commic’ Tern was seen off the north end, three Turnstones were in Solfach and two Puffins flew by at sea. 14 Spotted Flycatchers were dotted around, whilst hirundines seen amounted to: seven Swallows and three House Martins.

A Pebble Prominent caught by Nant Withy is another new species to be added to the island list this year.
