A few more birds, albeit common species, were present in the calm and sunny conditions today: a Greenfinch flew around the island’s gardens, a Grasshopper Warbler and a Blackcap were seen by Cristin Withy and 11 Common Sandpipers were dotted around the coast. A Grey Heron was again around the narrows, a Kestrel and a Song Thrush were seen at Nant and a Goldfinch was seen in the wetlands.

Many moths were attracted to the light traps during the night: the third and fourth Bordered Beautys (top) for the island were trapped in Cristin Withy, and a Dark-barred Twin-spot Carpet (bottom)was also caught here.
