Despite a calm start to the day, the weather soon deteriorated, with heavy rain and strong winds moving in from the west. Two Swifts passed over the middle of the island in the afternoon, and a Sand Martin and five House Martins were amongst 32 Swallows. A male Blackcap was with the usual warblers at Nant, a Little Owl was seen above Cristin and a Sparrowhawk continued to harass the island’s breeding birds. A Dunlin was again in Solfach, two Whimbrels were at the north end of the island and 21 Sandwich Terns were seen on Carreg yr Honwy.

A juvenile Dunlin and Ringed Plover were in Solfach today, the latter of which bore a ring.
The Sparrowhawk has been followed around the island by a flock of Meadow Pipits, Swallows and Linnets that seem to constantly mob the bird.
