Very few passerines passed overhead during the morning, although flocks of Fieldfares heading North in the late afternoon amounted to 235 birds: the highest day-count of the year. 81 Blackbirds, 12 Song Thrushes, 34 Redwings and a Mistle Thrush fed in the fields and gardens, whilst visible migration comprised of 15 Skylarks, 26 Meadow Pipits, 1600 Starlings, 81 Chaffinches, two Bramblings, nine Greenfinches, 24 Goldfinches and 21 Linnets.  A Sparrowhawk, four Buzzards and a Merlin were the only raptors seen, whilst three Snipe, a Woodcock and four Water Rails were seen in the wetlands and six Lapwings flew along the West coast. A Great Skua, two Mediterranean Gulls, a Teal and 12 Common Scoters passed by at sea in the morning, and a dark-bellied Brent Goose was seen in Solfach.
