4th to 5th January

The 4th was a very windy day with very few birds of any consequence. The 5th was a much better day: in the morning, an excellent passage of 25 Red-throated Divers took place through the sound, accompanied by a single Great Northern Diver, whilst further sea movement included 1700 Guillemots and 13 Common Scoters. A Redwing and three Song Thrushes were seen in the gardens, a Little Owl was present on Pencristin, and three Whimbrels were amongst the Curlews in Henllwyn.
