A crisp autumnal day saw a good amount of visible migration occurring throughout the morning. It was highlighted by over 194 Redwings, which flew east in loose flocks in the early hours; a total of 37 Skylarks, 208 Meadow Pipits, four Fieldfares, two Song Thrushes, 73 Chaffinches and six Bramblings also flew north. Two Whooper Swans-the first of the year- flew South above the island in the morning, whilst two Red-breasted Mergansers and 11 Common Scoters flew east through the sound.
