A total of five Spotted Flycatchers around the island were the only obvious new arrivals in terms of passerines today- a large percentage of warblers and spring migrants are now breeding on the island, and so it is increasing hard to discern new arrivals amongst them. Needless to say, at least four new phylloscopus warblers were ringed at the Observatory, indicating at least a small arrival. On the wader front, singles of Whimbrel, Redshank, Common Sandpiper and three Curlews were noted.
