It was another blustery day with the wind chill really making it feel colder than it actually was. However, the sun was shining so we can't complain!

A late Jack Snipe flushed from a stream on the north end was probably the avian highlight of the day, with two Hooded Crows on the Narrows earlier in the morning. Other birds included three Fulmars, ten Gannets, 15 Mallards including the first brood of ducklings, 96 Oystercatchers, four Whimbrels, four Redshanks, two Turnstones, ten Kittiwakes, a Collared Dove, a Little Owl, ten Swallows, seven Wheatears, three Blackcaps, six Chiffchaffs, three Willow Warblers, seven Goldcrests, three Chaffinches, five Goldfinches and 24 Linnets.

After a few weeks without much sign of nest building, most of the island's Choughs are busy collecting sheep's wool as lining.
