A quiet day today, not too many hours spent in the field. Highlights were two Whimbrels on West Coast, and two Merlins were seen at South End. Also around were: 12 Redshanks, six Turnstones, 71 Oystercatchers, four Shelducks, seven Shags, one Little Owl, two Stonechats and seven Wheatears. Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers continue to feed amongst the trees, with numbers at least in the high teens for each species.
