The day started with some terrible weather! Constant rain until mid-day and 30mph SSW wind made birding difficult. However, rain overnight and southerly winds in spring can bring in some migrants and so going out in the rain did provide something.

The highlight of the day were two stunning Wood Warblers, one singing and actively feeding at nant and one found hiding in the withys. Other highlights included a Great Skua, a Arctic Skua, a Red-throated Diver and five Common Scoters past the seawatch hide in the morning.

The weather brightened up in the evening and more counts came in, an impressive 50 Whimbrels were counted, the Greater-spotted Woodpecker was still around, 23 Blackcaps, 12 Chiffchaffs, 31 Willow Warblers, and a single Great Tit at nant.
