Last night's weather was a bit too windy to go out ringing, and a rest was much needed after nighttime ringing for the last few days!

Today's weather was very nice to start, with blue skies in the morning, however as the day drew on, it got a little cloudier and the wind picked up in the afternoon.

It was more of the same today, with some general maintenance work around the Obs for Mark with a little more work on the Solar Panels, too. While Josie and George headed for the Manxie burrows to continue with some Growth Monitoring work, all burrows now have chicks, although, sadly, since last week, one of the chicks above the Obs has been predated...

Manxie chick now outweighing it at 550g!

Other sightings today included: 1139 Manx Shearwaters, one Whimbrel, four Curlews, two Common Sandpipers, five Black-headed Gulls, one Cuckoo, three Song Thrushes, seven Sedge Warblers, one Blackcap, seven Willow Warblers, three Great Tits and three Goldfinches
