Gentle northerly winds and decent cloud cover provided the ideal conditions to potentially catch a good number of birds this morning. Sam opened the nets at the Obs and George and Alex opened the new nets at Ty Pellaf having caught seven White Wagtails coming into roost there last night.

It was clear that there had been a small arrival of Goldcrests overnight as ten were caught at the Obs and nine at Ty Pellaf and a few more were present along the mountainside. Four Grey Wagtails and two Siskin were also caught at the Obs, with both species having been noted moving through the island over the past few days. Other highlights included the first Garden Warbler to be ringed this autumn  at Ty Pellaf along with 30 Meadow Pipits, four Lesser Redpolls and a handsome male Stonechat.
