Winds had really picked up by the time we got up this morning, blowing at 35mph from the South West. They had brought plenty of rain too, and it was pretty persistent for the first half of the day.

The weather was really not any good for birding, but ben headed to the North hide first thing. Other than a Bonxie, there was not much else moving, but there was a small movement of Manx Shearwaters and Kittiwakes moving west into the sound.

The rest of the day was spent getting on with paperwork and report writing and then in the late afternoon, we headed down to Solfach to take down the portable Heligoland Trap before the wind picks up properly overnight. On the Narrows while sorting out the trap, there were 45 Curlews, five Redshanks and seven Turnstones.
