Today started with a light drizzle but it was calm. By the afternoon it was warm but the cloud remained making it very humid. Stuart opened the nets in the Observatory garden and was rewarded with a good haul with the majority being Lesser Redpolls. There were also seven Spotted Flycatchers and six Sedge Warblers.

Large swarms of House Martins were seen again today with the largest being around 150 over the Mountain. There were also nine Swifts seen with them. One Sanderling, three Dunlins and a Ringed Plover were seen on Solfach.

Birds today: 16 Gannets, one Grey Heron, one Buzzard, one Ringed Plover, one Sanderling, three Dunlins, one Whimbrel, three Curlews, six Turnstones, one Black-headed Gull, nine Swift, 40 Swallows, 224 House Martins, 12 Sedge Warblers, six Whitethroats, three Blackcaps, seven Chiffchaffs, two Willow Warblers, 18 Spotted Flycatchers, one Chaffinch, six Siskins, eight Goldfinches, 22 Lesser Redpolls

Ringing totals: Wren (2), Stonechat 1, Blackbird 1, Sedge Warbler 6, Whitethroat 1 (1), Blackcap 2, Chiffchaff 6, Spotted Flycatcher 7, Siskin 1, Lesser Redpoll 15
