An overcast start brightened up to another fine sunny day on the Island. The first Merlin of the year was over the Narrows along with three Brambling at Cristin, a Willow Warbler in the Withies and a Black Redstart still at Cristin

Other birds today included a Sparrowhawk, a Buzzard, two Ringed Plovers, four Blackcaps, a Greenfinch, six Siskin, eight Wheatears, 18 Chiffchaff and 19 Goldcrests.

The Small White remained at the Cristin along with a Small Tortoiseshell and a Peacock.

Two moth traps were set at Cristin and resulting in 50 moths of 11 species being caught including the first Red Chestnuts of the year.

'Margret' the Cattle Egret remained in amongst the sheep!
