Light south-easterlies made for some further finch movement today, allowing us to witness some visible migration (vismig)! Slightly fewer birds were going through than yesterday, with 399 Linnets, 143 Goldfinches and a Siskin seen. Some flocks were seen coming in-off the sea at the North End, and others headed out off the South End of the island, flying high into the wind.

Summer migrants were seen moving through as nine Swallows, nine Sand Martins and a House Martin were recorded. A Grasshopper Warbler was heard feeling again at Nant, whilst White Wagtail numbers increased 18. Fewer Phylloscs were seen with 10 Willow Warblers and three Chiffchaffs, as well as 14 Blackcaps and 25 Wheatears.

Further Chough monitoring allowed us to witness the seabird spectacle in the East Side of the Mountain again, rendering 168 Puffins. Other bird highlights for the day were five Whimbrels, two Skylarks, a Goldcrest and a Buzzard.

The moth trap produced two new species for the year list, with Brimstone and Least Black Arches - the 5th island record.
