An overcast but calm day on the Island with many finches recorded moving south into a light head wind during the early morning. This resulted in a total of 23 Siskins, 394 Goldfinches (3rd highest day count and highest spring count ever!) and 303 Linnets recorded during the day! Other highlights were the a male Common Redstart still at Nant, three Grasshopper Warblers, 31 Common Scoters, nine Whimbrels, three Collared Doves and 13 White Wagtails.

Other birds today included: four Cormorants, a Grey Heron, 23 Purple Sandpipers, eight Sand Martins, eight Swallows, 21 Blackcaps, 11 Chiffchaffs, 24 Willow Warblers

Morning ringing at Cristin produced 11 Blackcaps, three Willow Warblers, a Goldcrest, a Chiffchaff, a Blackbird, a Robin, three Siskins (two controls) and seven Goldfinches.
