Last night was our most successful Storm Petrel ringing session of the year yet with 25 ringed and three retraps/controls.

Waders and seabirds seemed to be on the move as a Dunlin, six Curlews, four Redshanks, six Black-headed Gulls, and three Sandwich Terns were all recorded today. Passerines were as well with six Willow Warblers seen - most of which were juveniles in their bright lemony plumage. Two juvenile Blackcaps were also ringed at the Obs.

In the afternoon, we led another guided 'Meet the Manxie chick' walk, showing the monitoring process for some of the burrows up at Ty Pellaf and Pen Cristin.

Chick of burrow Pen Cristin 4 - weighing 403g with a 74mm wing length!
