Migrants seen today were two Whimbrels, 12 Curlews, three Redshanks, a Lapwing, six Black-headed Gulls, six Sandwich Terns, and a Willow Warbler.

We started the day by heading out with Gareth on his boat to monitor the productivity of Kittiwakes on the cliffs of the East Side. As we were getting ready to set off, Steve spotted a Common Seal on the rocks of Henllwyn - the third for the year!

The Kitts seem to be doing fairly well this year, with a total of 145 juveniles counted on this week's trip. Soon we'll have a number for the overall productivity of the colony this year.

After the boat trip, we had a lunch with the Island Trust trustees, discussing the work we've been doing so far this year and the state of the Island's wildlife. Later on, a snorkel in Cafn provided some respite from the heat, and we saw Compass JellyfishBlue Jellyfish and a Common Blenny

There was a fair haul again in the Obs moth trap with 139 moths of 25 species.
