Today was fairly quiet bird-wise but the first Whimbrels (two) of the autumn were seen on their return passage, alongside three Curlews, 12 Redshanks, the continuing juvenile Marsh Harrier and five Black-headed Gulls. On the theme of return passage, Steve and Emma returned today from their holiday off the Island!

The moth trap had a smaller catch than the previous few days with only 52 of 26 species, but it did include a rather smart Marbled Green.
