Light north-westerlies resulted in little turnover in terms of birds on the Island, but the juvenile Marsh Harrier was still present which was joined by a Buzzard. Elsewhere there were two Curlews, a Redshank, two Common Sandpipers and the first Sand Martin of the autumn.

In the morning we led another Manx Shearwater chick walk, showing guests the weighing and measuring of the birds. Some of the early hatchers are getting pretty heavy now and are pushing 400g. The average weight of the adults is 392g, so the chicks will be keeping the adults busy with their voracious appetite at the moment!

Later on in the afternoon, we headed round the East Side to carry out some more seabird counts - many thanks to Gareth again for taking us out for the trip! Almost all of the Razorbills and Guillemots have fledged, leaving many guano-stained cliffs, whilst lots of the Kittiwakes have large chicks that look ready to fledge fairly soon.
