The winds turned to easterly overnight and definitely brought the birds; at sea the first Pomarine Skua of the year, three Arctic Skuas, 11 Common Scoters, four Sandwich Terns, two Common Terns, an Arctic Tern and a 'Commic' Tern. Marine life of the West Coast included 8-10 White-sided Dolphins (second record of the year), 25 Risso's Dolphins, two Harbour Porpoise and a brief Shark species jumping clear of the water.
Overhead passage today included 10 Tree Pipits, six Grey Wagtails and two Rooks. A total of 299 House Martins were logged included a further 39 trapped at Cristin. Other highlights included a Hooded Crow, the Whinchat still, a Snipe, three Collared dove, 362 Swallows and 16 White Wagtails.

It wasn't just birds on the move, a good arrival of migrant moths today included two Bordered Straws, two Small Mottled Willows, two Pearly Underwings, four Silver Y's, six Rush Veneers, two Dark Sword Grass, four Rusty Dot Pearls and two Hummingbird Hawkmoths.

Other birds seen today included three Grey Herons, 8 Mallards, two Sparrowhawks, a Golden Plover, three Ringed Plovers, six Purple Sandpipers, a Dunlin, two Whimbrels, 24 Curlews, nine Redshanks, 33 Turnstones, a Mediterranean Gull, seven Black-headed Gulls, a Common Gull, 3000 Kittiwakes, eight Razorbills, two Feral Pigeons, 80 Meadow Pipits, 13 Robins, a Sedge Warbler, three Whitethroats, a Blackcap, 11 Willow Warblers, four Goldcrests, a Spotted Flycatcher and 10 Goldfinches.
