With all hands on deck to prepare the Observatory for the upcoming season, birding was put on the backburner for most of the day. Despite this there were still plenty of Wheatears around with 31 mainly concentrated around the Narrows and the South End. Other migrants included six Willow Warblers, ten Chiffchaffs, 12 Blackcaps, four Swallows, two Sand Martins, a Fieldfare in the Withies, a Lesser Redpoll at the South End and a White Wagtail at Solfach. A Rook over the Lighthouse was a notable sighting, this common Corvid on the mainland is only an occasional visitor to the island.
