Bright and calm today. A Common Sandpiper and a Redshank were in Solfach whilst a second brood of Robins has appeared in the Observatory garden. A few butterflies were on the wing with more Painted Ladies seen today although the Large Whites have been winding down in numbers. A Northern Rustic was new for year in the moth-trap.

One of the main events on the day was the shearing of the sheep, many of which are now sporting much more appropriate coats for the recent hot weather!
