I am starting to run out of ways to say it was misty today, so I’ll leave the photograph to speak for itself.

The foggy conditions today, once again hampered any proper migration, but a respectable day total was still met. A Kestrel, joined the near resident Merlin today in marauding the island. On the Narrows a Ringed Plover, eight Purple Sandpipers, one Dunlin, nine Whimbrels, one Common Sandpiper and a Turnstone were the highlights. Overhead only one Sand Martin and 37 Swallows were logged, but on the land, the clear highlight involved a Long-eared Owl which ventured the island, exploring the withies before heading to Nant never to be seen again. Passerines inland included a White Wagtail, nine Sedge Warblers, two Whitethroats, two Blackcaps, six Chiffchaffs, four Willow Warblers, two Siskins, eight Lesser Redpolls and the long-staying Bullfinch pair.
