A layer of mist and light drizzle decked the island this morning making census difficult to start with, but as the day continued the conditions lightened and sun was once again scattered across the island. Five Kestrels were once again present, all seen hunting along the mountainside, whilst a Short-eared Owl was flushed from the Wetlands. Wader numbers were a little more hampered today after some notable passage in the last weeks of August. Four Ringed Plovers, 18 Whimbrels, nine Curlews, five Redshanks and 45 Turnstones were logged, all around the Narrows.

Passage out to sea, consisted of a Mediterranean Gull, 38 Sandwich Terns and 60 Arctic Terns, lower than in previous days, but still an impressive Tern movement in Bardsey terms. Overhead passage was highlighted by a Tree Pipit among the mere 37 Swallows recorded today. A scattering of other migrants across the island included 10 White Wagtails, four Whinchats, 19 Wheatears, one Grasshopper Warbler, one Sedge Warbler, one Reed Warbler, three Chiffchaffs, seven Willow Warblers, one Firecrest, three Spotted Flycatchers and one Pied Flycatcher.
