Three Mallards at sea, these live a more wild life than duck pond Mallards. |
Thursday, 28 March 2019
Another Willow Warbler was heard today, so we can expect them to trickle in from this point on. The season's first Kestrel was seen at South End today, a female that flew down over the edge of the coastline and out of sight. Three Sand Martins and two Swallows were recorded over Lowlands, and Meadow Pipit numbers remain reasonably high at 121, and a flock of 29 Linnets was mixed among them. Also a good count of 19 alba wagtails on the Narrows, the vast majority were pied, but one White Wagtail was with them. Shelduck numbers go up and down day by day, there were four recorded today, along with six Mallards and two Teals inland on Pwll Cain.
