Quite a quiet, overcast day today, the morning bird census down at South End produced a Peregrine, which was seen watching over the waders around the coastline. For the fourth day in a row a Merlin at South end was seen perched on the rocks, presumably it's been picking off the Meadow Pipits as the numbers swell. Two Golden Plovers were heard calling off West Coast in the early morning, plus the highest count of Oystercatchers so far at 143. At Solfach, the elusive flock of Purple Sandpipers was seen, and a total of 45 were counted during high tide.

A very brief seawatch at South End in the afternoon didn't bring in much variety, although what appeared to be a feeding flock of 235 Kittiwakes was seen about one kilometre out. On top of that were 26 Guillemots, 14 Razorbills, 69 distant auk sp. and a Harbour Porpoise.

At Cristin, the work continues with minor repairs and deep cleaning!
Long-time volunteer Linda has been visiting Bardsey for many years. Here, she is
making sure all the cooking utensils will be safe for use by visitors!
