Today was the calmest day for a long time on Bardsey, for most of the day no breeze could be felt on most of the island, and only a very slight northerly if so.

Birds of the day include two Sanderlings on Solfach and a male Yellow Wagtail, again Solfach beach. A walk round to the east side of the island yielded 400 Razorbills, 600 Guillemots. along with 17 Shags (some of which are looking after chicks), five Fulmars, eight Choughs, two Ravens with two chicks and two Peregrines.

Ten Stonechats were around today, one was caught at Cristin. Two Juveniles have been seen at the farm getting fed by the parents, and several other nest sights are known, so hopefully they will also produce some healthy offspring.
Male Stonechat, this one is a second calendar year bird
White Wagtail numbers have been getting lower over the weeks, seven were recorded today along with seven Pied Wagtails. However, it has been good to see more Yellow Wagtails, most commonly seen on the Narrows and on the beach at Solfach.
Yellow Wagtail on Solfach, this is the British race 'flavissima', the yellowish head and throat indicates that it is a male. A Ringed Plover can be seen to the left of the picture.

Today was a better day for waders with 23 Dunlins, four Ringed Plovers, 19 Purple Sandpipers, one Bar-tailed Godwit and two Sanderlings.
