A bit cooler today with winds coming in from the northeast in the morning and switching to straight easterlies in the afternoon. It rained overnight, but unlike other areas of the UK there were no falls on Bardsey, unfortunately.

The most notable birds of the day were two Hooded Crows that were seen on the Narrows around Solfach during the morning and one was seen later on, on the South End, there have been a few records of the species this year, so they are always good to see.

Bar-tailed Godwit passage has continued to be strong today with three seen in total, a very modest number in many places but not bad for Bardsey. Other waders include Ringed Plovers, Purple Sandpipers, Dunlins, Whimbrels, Curlews, Common Sandpipers and Turnstones. There was also a Black-headed Gull on Solfach, not a bad bird for the spring although passage can occur in large numbers on some days.
