Steve began his morning with a few Willow Warblers that had arrived overnight in the Obs garden, along with a Sedge Warbler and two Whitethroats (although the latter had been hatched on the island) and a bunch of baby Stonechats (seven of which have been trapped in the past two days in the Heligoland trap).

Then he heard a Green Sandpiper that was calling over the South End, before eventually locating it on Gareth's Pond in the lowlands below the Obs.

Stuart covered the South End and Narrows and found a Sanderling on Solfach; the highlight. He then made his way through the withies and lowlands and found the second Redstart of the autumn.

Steve headed to Nant and had more Willow Warblers along with the autumn's first Pied Flycatcher that was seen briefly in the plantation.

Moths did not provide a huge variety nor numbers compared to recent days, but Single-dotted Wave was new for the year.

Steve then spent the rest of the day painting more of the Lodge in readiness for the re-opening on the 14th.
