It was a miserable day today and was perfect conditions for seawatching. Between all the birders on the island around six hours was spent looking out to see with very little reward. Total counts were 11 Fulmars, 2097 Manx Shearwaters, 59 Gannets, four Black-headed Gulls, one Common Gull, 23 Kittiwakes and a Swift. The highlights of the day was five Teals and a 2nd winter Yellow-legged Gull on Solfach.
Stuart spent the day working on the breeding bird report and started with the seabird section. Many of the species on Bardsey have had productive years including Shag and Kittiwake.
Birds today: 11 Fulmars, 59 Gannets, one Grey Heron, five Teals, three Dunlins, two Ringed Plovers, 24 Whimbrels, 38 Curlews, five Redshanks, one Common Sandpiper, 27 Turnstones, four Black-headed Gulls, one Common Gull, one Yellow-legged Gull, one Swift, eight Willow Warblers
