Another gorgeous sunny day resulted in an impressive 12 Black Redstarts across the island including three males! Other highlights included two Bramblings, the Bullfinch at Nant still, three Greenfinches at Ty Pellaf, the first White Wagtail on Solfach with a Dunlin and Golden Plover on the Narrows. 

The first Peacock butterfly of the year was around Cristin.

Other birds recorded today included a Ringed Plover, eight Skylarks, 274 Meadows Pipits, 11 Wheatears, four Song Thrushes, 23 Chiffchaffs, six Goldcrests, three Blackcaps, 47 Siskins, six Chaffinch and two Lesser Redpolls

There seemed to be a large arrival of Gulls in the North End colony resulting in 248 Herring Gulls (up from 72 yesterday) and 48 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (up from only one yesterday!).

The first moth trap of the year resulted in a modest catch of 19 Common Quakers and two Early Thorns

'Margret' the Cattle Egret remained in amongst the sheep!
