The warm, sunny weather continued to bless the island; you would be forgiven in thinking it was July not March! However, this calm, clear weather resulted in very little arrival of migrants. The highlights of today included a female Great Spotted Woodpecker at Nant; which was later ringed at Cristin, a Grey Wagtail over, a Merlin on the South End, two Black Redstarts, the Firecrest still at Cristin and 15+ Risso's Dolphins went south along the West Coast.

Other birds seen today included a Grey Heron, a Rook, a White Wagtail, nine Wheatears, a Redwing, a Blackcap, five Chiffchaffs, 13 Goldcrests, a Greenfinch and a male Lesser Redpoll. Other non-avian highlights of the day included a Small White, a Peacock, a Small Tortoiseshell and the first Clouded Drab of the year in the moth trap at Cristin.
