Tempestuous seas and strong westerlies dominated the first half of the day, which kept most terrestrial birds out of sight. Out at sea, however, there was some noticeable movement. 4 and half hours of sea-watching produced a Great Skua, two Red-throated Divers, a Sandwich Tern, a Common Gull, a Common Scoter, 727 Kittiwakes, 406 Guillemots, 322 Razorbills, 71 Gannets,  27 Fulmars and 9 Puffins. A Harbour Porpoise was also seen dipping in and out of the waves.

The wind dropped in the afternoon and bird activity across the Island increased, producing four Swallows, a male Black Redstart again at Ty Pellaf, four Snipe in the Wetlands, three Curlews and five Redshanks at Solfach.

Whilst counting the Grey Seals at Solfach, a Common Seal (a vagrant in Welsh waters) was found in amongst them, the first for the year!
