A sunny day with a cold northerly wind, resulted in a very winter like feel. The birding highlight of the day was probably two Stock Doves that flew low over Cristin then along the West Coast; these are scarce birds on the Island. Other highlights included a White Wagtail on Solfach, a Swallow over the Narrows, three Purple Sandpipers on the North End and a Merlin on the South End.

Other birds today included a new male Sparrowhawk, 153 Oystercatchers, 17 Chiffchaffs, three Willow Warblers, eight Blackcaps, nine Wheatears, a Skylark, 77 Linnets and 15 Goldfinches.

The rest of the day was spent cleaning the accommodation ready to welcome our first guests of the season tomorrow. This was followed by a well deserved curry night!
