Today marked the arrival of the first guests to Cristin, who were greeted with blue skies and golden sunshine! Continuing north-westerlies for most the day made for a fairly quiet day in terms of birds, the main highlights being three Swallows flying around the Narrows, two Fieldfares, two Purple Sandpipers, a Grey Heron, 10 Puffins on the East Side and two Skylarks singing on the South End.

A trip to the East Side of the Island for some further Chough monitoring work showed us the breeding season was in full swing for seabirds! Many Shags were nest-building, Razorbills were seen copulating, and Fulmars were prospecting for nests.
Other bird highlights for the day were a Buzzard, a Sparrowhawk, 13 Wheatears, six Chiffchaffs, four Willow Warblers, five Blackcaps (four females) and a Siskin.
