A change in the wind direction late yesterday evening to a southerly wind resulted in a small increase in migrants. The highlight of the day was two Barnacle Geese that flew high, north along the West Coast, these are only the 22nd record for the Island! Other migrant totals included: two Whimbrels, a Sand Martin, three Swallows, five House Martins, two White Wagtails, six Blackcaps, 13 Chiffchaffs and 12 Willow Warblers.

Other birds included a Curlew, 20 Purple Sandpipers, five Snipe, 45 Rock Pipits, six Wheatears, three Goldcrests and 11 Goldfinches.

Ringing today produced six Chiffchaffs, four Willow Warblers, two Goldcrests, four Blackcaps, three Goldfinches and a Dunnock.
