Strong easterly winds and overcast skies were accompanied by an arrival of migrants today. A smart male Ring Ouzel was the highlight, spotted this morning on the Mountain behind Cristin. A small fall of Phylloscs was also noted as 18 Willow Warblers and four Chiffchaffs were seen around the Island. Further migrants included eight White Wagtails at Solfach, 18 Wheatears, and a Sand Martin zipping through the Wetlands.

The Heliogland trap proved productive today, resulting in 6 Willow Warblers and a single Chiffchaff being ringed.

Throughout the day, Observatory staff and volunteers worked hard repointing the wall in the Common Room, which will be looking better than ever soon! A solid team effort all round.

Hard at work!
