Last night Steve led another 'Meet the Manxies' walk with Connor assisting, where those on the walk are shown the Manx Sheawaters at night, as they come to land from the sea under the cover of darkness, as well as the ringing process. Another great walk accompanied by another gorgeous night's sky!

The day itself was relatively quiet in terms of birding, with a Hooded Crow at Nant being the highlight, alongside the remaining Siberian Chiffchaff and the first juvenile Starling of the year. Other migrant species seen today were two Sand Martins, 16 Swallows, eight House Martins and two Collared Doves

Today also saw the departure of our volunteer Joel, who's been fantastic at helping out Ed with the Manx Shearwater census as well as getting stuck in to the seabird ringing and birding on the Island! Look forward to seeing you again soon in the autumn!

Non-avian highlights for the day were a Painted Lady, two Green-veined Whites and a Small Copper.
