The return autumn passage seemed to be slowly picking up today with two Common Sandpipers, eight Curlews, five Lapwings, three Redshanks, a Chiffchaff and a Willow Warbler all recorded across the Island. It is also getting busy again for the breeding birds here as second broods are on their way - a nest with four Wheatear chicks was found today!

The Manx Shearwater chicks are starting to put on a bit more weight now as many of the guests saw on the 'Meet the Manxie' chick walk, some of them are getting up to 300g! The parents are now leaving them in the burrows on their own so that they can both forage and help feed the hungry chick.

Outside of bird news, there was another game of Island footy with some guests and Island Trust staff! Afterwards, everyone cooled off in the sea and made the most of the nice weather.
